Princess Sureyya was young, beautiful and familiar with Western culture when she became the queen of Iran. However, her marriage ended tragically due to her inability to have children. The Shah's desire for an heir to the throne led to their separation and Sureyya was forced to leave Iran. This event left a deep mark on Sureyya's life and earned her the title of "Princess of Sorrows".

Ersin Faikzade's book presents the sorrowful life story of Sureyya, her inner conflicts, the loneliness she experienced and the difficulties behind the scenes of palace life in an impressive style.  With this life story told through the eyes of Princess Süreyya, Faikzade invites readers to discover the social structure of Iran at that time and the complex atmosphere of palace life. This work strikingly reflects Süreyya's disappointments, the cultural conflicts she experienced, and the deep tragedy of love.
